Join MYEEP on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM for its Third Annual shopping party at the Sports Basement Potrero Hill.
For the past two years, MYEEP has partnered with Sports Basement to raise funds to support a college scholarship for MYEEP graduates. With your help, MYEEP will present a 2010 program graduate with a scholarship to support their college dreams. MYEEP participants generally come from backgrounds that present multiple challenges to the attainment of a college education. Your support will help to alleviate one of the challenges.
The Sports Basement at Potrero Hill has 5 levels of sports and outdoor fun including gear, apparel, and nutritional supplements for snowboarding, hiking, fitness, travel, biking, swimming, recreation, running, and other athletic endeavors at 30%-60% below retail. Brands include The North Face, Burton, Salomon, Asics, Adidas, Timbuktu, Hind, and many more. Come check out the offerings and mingle with MYEEP staff and supporters. Sports Basement is providing free light food and beverages. Sports Basement will be donating 10% of all purchases to the MYEEP scholarship fund as well as offering you a special 10% discount for your support of the program.
This is an excellent opportunity to meet people involved with MYEEP, save some money on holiday shopping, check out Sports Basement, and have a great time! Get a MYEEP gift with any purchase of $100 or more. Free parking is available at the Sports Basement parking lot, accessed on Florida Street (which runs parallel to Bryant Street). Mayor's Youth Employment and Education Program
The Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP) provides
subsidized employment opportunities to approximately 1,500 high school
aged youth each year. The goal of the program is to support the
positive development of youth in San Francisco by engaging them in
meaningful employment, career, leadership, and community involvement
opportunities. MYEEP is a collaboration of 12 community-based organizations, which ensures citywide inclusion in the program, as well as access to a diverse array of services.
